Heritage · Akita Prefecture, Japan

A Japanese treasure.
An enduring legacy.

The Akita's story begins in the rugged mountains of northern Japan, where its ancestors worked as versatile hunting dogs. Revered for courage, dignity, and devotion, the breed was designated a Japanese Natural Monument in 1931 and became known worldwide through Hachikō's legendary loyalty. After World War II, Japanese and American lines followed distinct paths—shaping the powerful American Akita Mahko represents today.

The Champion standard

A name built
for the long haul.

Champion Akita Legacy is not about producing the most. It is about making careful choices, being honest about every dog, and protecting the character of the Akita for the families who welcome one home.

01

Temperament first

A powerful dog should also be stable, thoughtful, and handled with respect. Temperament and compatibility guide every conversation.

02

Honest documentation

Registration, pedigree, veterinary history, and health information should be discussed clearly before a breeding is ever considered.

03

Intentional matches

Every female is evaluated as an individual. Structure, temperament, health background, timing, and goals all matter.

04

Lifetime responsibility

Good breeding does not end at birth. It begins with accountability, clear expectations, and respect for every life produced.

04

Stud inquiries

A thoughtful match
starts with a conversation.

  1. 01

    Tell us about your female

Share her age, registration, pedigree, health testing, temperament, location, photos, and expected timing.

  2. 02

    Review compatibility

We compare background, structure, goals, and records. A breeding moves forward only when the match makes sense for both dogs.

  3. 03

    Set clear terms

If the fit is right, we discuss timing, veterinary coordination, documentation, fees, and a written agreement before scheduling.
